Wastewater treatment depends in large extent on requirements for discharge. It is the special case when discharge is directly to a waterbody.
The Creek project in the State of Arkansas, USA was exactly such a case. Effluent discharge limits were estimated for a discharge of treated domestic wastewater from a subdivision. They included Nitrogen and Phosphorus reduction for protection of drinking water designated use, and because the receiving waterbody was indicated to be a nutrient enriched lake.
REŠETILOVS designed a wastewater treatment plant to meet the set effluent limits utilizing Phosphorus removal technology on the chemically enhanced primary sedimentation step and applying the fixed-film technology for advanced biological treatment, including nitri-denitrification.
